San Gimignano (Italy), Oct 2022
This was my 2nd trip to San Gimignano, a small charming medieval village in Tuscany. A UNESCO heritage site since 1990, it has remained almost intact since the end of the 14th century until today. One of the typical features of this village are the tall towers. Today it left only thirteen out of seventy. Builders not only compete to build the tallest tower for prestige, but they also had practical reasons, such as defense.
