Dolomites (Italy), Oct 2022
The site of Dolomites has often graced the Tour d’Italy, a major yearly cycling event. From any perspective you view it is an unique piece of natural architecture. From a distance the Dolomites are dramatic and imposing. It was declared a UNESCO Heritage site and is universally heralded as one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Europe. It is distinctive for their striking grey limestone hue, and sharp peaks in a clusters of jagged rock. The wilderness of Dolomites are boundless. With little light pollutants, it offers a platter for astrophotography at almost every peak and location.
The area of Dolomites covers around 25,000 hectares, or about 25,200 soccer fields. It offers so much to see, so probably a revisit is on my cards.
