Ballet, Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky)
I was given the exclusive permission to shoot this beautiful ballet performance in Esplanade Theatre in Dec 09. The organiser was so pleased with my final product !
Intro - Swan Lake is a classical ballet which tells the love story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. Under the spell of the evil sorcerer’s Rothbart, Odette is transformed into swan by day and can only revealed her human form at night. Prince Siegfried chances upon Odette at the lake and thus begins a magical journey of a love that transcends both human boundaries and evil spells. (All following photos were taken with Panasonic GH-1) 1- As the curtain draw up.........

on February 10, 2010Hi Dave, I think I have commented on some of your pics before, but I just had a look at your whole gallery the first time and I am somewhere between being in awe about how great your pics are and being a bit disillusioned because I realize how much I still have to learn. I clearly spent too much time buying stuff, lenses. I really need to go and take more pictures and to start looking at things differently. Thanks for the your contributions,

on February 5, 2010Wonderful shots, they give me hope that I will be able to do justice to a dance performance of some friends that I HAVE to photograph next month. I thought I will need to rent a Canon with the 85/1.4 lens, but looks like I can save some money and go with the G1 LOL.

on February 5, 2010Wonderful shots! A great combination of technical excellence and an eye for grace and action. Your web page shows a consistency of these qualities that is simply outstanding.
I also have a returned interest in photography after about a 20yr break and am astonished by the consistent quality that you have achieved. I have been doing amateur opera for the last couple of years. While I have been satified with my results, your shots far surpass my efforts (even taking into account, the more difficult lighting I might have in this amateur opera).
The shots and beautiful organisation of your webpage show that you have put a lot of thought and hard work in your photography. Both inspire me to go out and put more effort in - I might move to ballet if I can as well.
