GAINING MY FELLOWSHIP
To be conferred such distinguished title from the Royal Photographic Society is certainly satisfying that entailed considerable dedication and commitment, all compressed within a year after gaining my Associateship.
The Fellowship is the highest Distinction that recognizes original work and outstanding ability in a specialist field. The Award requires 20 cohesive images and describing the Intent, demonstrating a freshness in approach and evidence of distinguished ability with a strong personal style. Leaves were chosen as my subject theme under the Visual Art category.

STATEMENT OF INTENT
The pictures of the leaves were taken around the parks of Singapore in its natural form and are displayed in two distinct styles: The top row of leaves were still in its young and flourishing stage, and the bottom row had them in various stages of decay, either aged, being attacked by insects or succumbed to diseases.
My intent is to enhance the beauty of the leaves by illustrating them in an array of patterns accentuating its lines, shapes and curves. With the juxtaposing of shadows and assorted colours, it renders an aura of vibrancy and splendour even for leaves in its withering stage. The artful combinations of these forms evoke a myriad of abstract interpretations that expressed my belief in the divinity of art and nature.
